WALT2008 is the first international Laser Therapy conference to be hosted on the African Continent. The objective of hosting the conference in South Africa is to provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences and knowledge about Laser Therapy, and to develop and promote international collaboration between continents, countries, universities, research units, laser therapy centres and individual researchers and scientists. It is hoped for that this conference will bring together laser therapists, physicists, biologists, clinicians and educators with the view of promoting and highlighting the significance and importance of laser irradiation as a therapeutic treatment as well as the scientific mechanism underlying Laser Therapy.
